Rabbits' Diet 兔子饮食须知

In addition to Behaviour but also to understand the habits of rabbits food, are as follows:
除了兔子的习性外还要了解兔子的饮食,如下:

Rabbit are herbivores; they mainly eat hay and need access to water but also benefit from  diet of fresh vegetables. Their dier should roughly follow the ratios below:
兔子是草食性动物, 主要的是食物的干草, 其次是新鲜蔬菜, 兔粮及水。 比例:





The Importance Of Hay And Vegetables 食草对兔子的重要性
As rabbits are herbivores it is very important that they have a sufficient amount of hay. Rabbit’s teeth grow continuously throughout their lives so chewing hay can help keep their teeth trimmed and avoid dental disorders. Hay also provides cellulose to help ease the movement of their intestines.  兔子是草食性動物,因此牠們必須餵飼大量的乾草或蔬菜類植物。由於兔子的牙齒會不斷生長,兔子在啃嚼乾草的時侯,可把牙齒磨短,有助減低牙患的問題,而纖維素更有助兔子的腸胃臑動。


Vegetables And Fruit 蔬菜及水果种类
Vegetables (it is preferable to have at least 3 different varieties every day to provide different nutrients):

蔬菜類 (每天最好有3種不同的蔬菜以提供不同的營養):


Suitable for rabbits -Cabbage, watercress (beware of worms), white cabbage, Chinese lettuce,lettuce, parsley, Chinese leaves, spinach, water spinach, amaranth, tomato, green pepper, carrot (as snacks only because of its sweetness), etc.
適合兔子- 菜心、白菜、西洋菜(小心蟲)、小棠菜、唐生菜、油麥菜、莞茜、紹菜、波菜(不宜過多因鈣質高)、通菜、莧菜、蕃茄、青椒、甘荀(比較甜只適合作小食)等。

Not suitable for rabbits- Cauliflower, corn, onion, garlic, chilli, or other spicy food, as well as carbohydrates like peanuts, potato, peas, etc.
不適合兔子- 椰菜、粟米、洋蔥、蒜頭、辣椒等刺激食物、碳水化合物類如花生、馬鈴薯、豆類食品等。


Fruit (as snacks only):
水果類 (只可作為零食):


Suitable for rabbits -Apple, banana, pear, pineapple, papaya
適合兔子- 蘋果、香蕉、梨、菠蘿、木瓜等。

Not suitable for rabbits- Grape, watermelon, lemon

不適合兔子- 葡萄、西瓜、檸檬等。
 
Pellet 兔粮
選擇兔糧時應注意兔糧的營養成份:

Protein-12-16%
蛋白質-12-16%

Fat- Less than 2%
脂肪-少於2%

Fabric-20-25%
纖維-20-25%

Calcium-0.4-0.6%
鈣質-0.4-0.6%

Phosphorous-0.22-0.5%
磷質-0.22-0.5%

(The pellet should not contain any grain, corn or dried carrots.)

(兔糧不應該含什糧,如粟米、甘荀乾、穀類等)


Snack :  零食:
Sugar, fat and calories can cause illness in the intestines, obesity and other health problems. As fruits are rich in sugars, rabbits should only consume fruits and snacks very occasionally and only in small quantities. It is recommended that rabbits should only consume two cotton-bud-sizes of fruit in one week.水果及零食含有很高的糖分、脂肪及卡路里,只可偶爾小量給予兔子作小食,切忌過量,因容易令兔子出現腸胃不適、肥胖及其他健康問題。必要時,可用水果代替零食給兔子吃。跟據獸醫建議,一隻身體正常的成年兔子,一星期零食的份量不可多於兩個綿花球的體積。



** Please note that vitamin drops, honey sticks, biscuits, hairball remedies, vitamin supplements, Pro Care Durchfall-Tropfen, pumice stone and mineral stone, which are available in pet shops, are not recommended for rabbits. **
** 一般竉物店售賣的乳酪糖、蜜糖棒、餅仔、去毛膏、維他命、營養水、止屙水、磨牙石、鹽磚等 – 全部都不應該食用 **

Water 食水
Rabbits should drink boiled water only. Please avoid tap water and bottled mineral water.

要用煲過的白開水,避免使用自來水及礦泉水。



Rabbits usually need to drink 100 ml of water to every 1kg of body weight. However different rabbits have different requirements and tend to consume less water in winter than in summer. Rabbits should consume roughly the same amount each day without big fluctuations.
(飲水的份量因兔而異,冬天一般會比夏天少飲一點,最重要是份量平均,不會突然有大轉變;跟據獸醫的資料,每一公斤體重的兔子每天須要約100毫升的水份。)
